Possible Ways From Georgia To Tennessee For The Johnsons

Possible routes for the Johnsons to move from Georgia to Tennessee, included the Georgia Road (on the map below):

1830 Georgia Map (LOC) (Route Across Cherokee Land To Tennessee)

A less likely route was the Natchez Trace into western Tennessee.

The Old Cherokee Path could have been used as a connector; it began in Stephens County, Georgia and ended in Washington County, Virginia.  Unicoi Trail "was the most heavily used trade route into east Tennessee...".  Avery's Trace was the route from Knoxville to Nashville.

Wilson County, Tennessee, (it is believed) is where the Johnsons lived before moving to Gallatin County, Illinois (see map below):
