Daniel And Thankful To John Backus

Sold to my 4th Great-grandfather, John Backus per a deed requested from the Livingston Co., NY, Clerk's Office:

This Indenture made the third day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Daniel J. Richardson and Thankful G., his wife of the town of Mount Morris Livingston County & State of New York of the first part and John Backus of Livonia and County & State aforesaid of the second part  Witnesseth that said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy Dollars lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted bargained sold remised released and quit claimed and by these presents do grant bargain sell remise release and quit claim unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever all that piece or parcel of land situate and being in the Town of Livonia and beginning at the north east corner of a lot of land set to Horace Stone and Philinda his wife, in a division made by Commissioners appointed by the order of a Court running thence north one chain to a stake thence West 37 chains 75 links to the highway center thence along the highway 1 chain to the line of said lot set to Horace Stone and Philinda his wife thence along the line of said lot to the place of beginning, 37 chains and 75 links containing nearly four acres of land be the same more or less together with all and singular the hereditaments.....
