James Johnson (born Tennessee per 1860 census), son of Adam & Elizabeth Johnson (both born in Virginia per 1860 census), who were living in Gallatin Co., Illinois, in 1860, was the correct age for the above-listed James, but his "nativity" is listed as "Gallatin Co., IL." In the 1850 Census James Johnson's birthplace was listed as Illinois.

There was a James D. Johnson in 110 IL, Company B, who died 16 December 1920, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was also a sergeant and in Company G.

A James M. Johnson was in the 110th Co. B and also in Co. A.

The name "James Johnson" of Gallatin County, Illinois, got my attention because that is a name and a location where I'm researching. My James Johnson was born in 1839 in Illinois (probably Gallatin, though he lived in nearby Saline County in later years), but appeared to be a totally different James Johnson that those represented above.
