St. Clair County, Michigan...

No. 243. ...[Jean Marie] Beaubien had in 1781 obtained with Meldrum and Park a deed from the Indians to a large tract and had occupied more than one parcel.

This claimant appears in the tax list of 1802, and in August 1805 was commissioned by Governor Hull, a justice of the peace, and the following month he was appointed lieutenant of a militia company to be composed of the men living along the river from Lake Huron to Lake St Clair.

This tract was in 1815 sold to Andrew Westbrook who occupied it as his home farm.
