Barney And Gunpowder Falls

Taken from the Commodore Joshua Barney book; the Barney homestead on the map is located near Gunpowder Falls where some of my ancestors (Greer, Day, etc.) lived..

Fort McHenry on the Patapsco River.  An attack during the War of 1812 furnished the theme for the well-known words of the Star Spangled Banner by F.S. Key.

"Also part of a tract of land called 'Morgan's Delight' on north side of Patapsco River deeded in 1717 by Mary Stevenson to her daughter Elizabeth, wife of William Barney the first."

Another Greer descendant's post here.
