Springwells

See a plat map of the (defunct) township of Springwells in the county of Wayne, State of Michigan.

This was also the site of the Treaty of Springwells which was "signed at what is now Ft. Wayne, Detroit, Michigan on September 8, 1815."

War of 1812 information found in the Michigan Historical Collections, Volume 15:

"...I found General Hull had struck his Camp at Spring Mill [should read SPRINGWELLS] and Marched into Detroit...".
