I am a direct descendant of Myndert Harris and I am gathering information about his life- specifically between the years of 1778 and 1783. If you are able to share part of my family's history, I would like to get in contact with you. Please email Chuck at charris@albertcollege.ca.
Thank you!
Sorry, Chuck, I'm not affiliated with your family and don't have any additional information. Found your ancestor's information while browsing and thought it was interesting, though.
Does anybody know the name of the colonel of Myndert's battalion? I cannot read the name on this petition. I am interested because Myndert is also listed on the roll of a 1775 battalion from the Revolutionary War stationed in Dutchess County, NY.
Thank you for your response, PalmRV.
Does he fit? http://www.royalprovincial.com/military/rhist/indp_co_hierlihy/ichmem1.htm?
Timothy HIERLIHY
Good luck,

Hello Cathy,
I could not find Myndert's name on a muster roll for Timothy Hierlihy- a Loyalist regiment named on this land petition.
My confusion is that on this original posting of this petition, it says that Myndert was in Brinkckerhoff's battalion 2nd Regiment- an American regiment http://genealogytrails.com/ny//putnam/military/revoluntarywar2ndregiment.html
Any insight as to how to resolve my confusion would be grateful.
