The Niagara Peninsula branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, in their November 1986, newsletter, featured a column about Upper Canada land petitions using Anne McDonald petition as an example. An index, as well as the petitions themselves are now online (so it is no longer necessary to view microfilm in the library). It's an interesting article that I will review periodically when I need a reminder.
