James Stout Estate In Steuben Co, NY


Although the estate's property was in Steuben County, the information was in Livingston County's Deed Book #4, per the New York, Land Records, 1630-1975 Livingston Deeds 1819-1828 online at FamilySearch:

30 October 1815 was a Surrogate Court Order...Hannah Stout was Administrix and James Faulkner was Administrator...subject to dower, to wit:...lots of land; 1st lot in the NW corner of Twp. No. 6 in the 6th Range of Townships...Steuben County, being Lot Number 25 containing 97 acres...the other lot in the village of Dansville...beginning at the SE corner of the late Jared Jueries...links to Jacob Walshes line...Hannah hath since intermarried with Edward Howell...seized at Jonathan Rowley's Hotel in the village of Dansville...

1. Lydia Shepherd Strong.  She was married to James Faulkner Howell (son of Edward Howell Sr. and Hannah Cruger) on July 15, 1855 in Bath, Steuben, New York.
