Crego In Conesus

A dispute over land in Conesus, New York, found in the Court of Appeals (in 1867), while researching another matter involving Lester B. Crego, is outlined below.

Defendant offered in evidence a deed (in 1863)...between Lester B. Crego and Joseph Wells, both formerly of Conesus, Livingston County, and state of New York, of the first part, and Chauncey M. Crego of Conesus...of the second part.... .  ...conveyed by Samuel Jones Scott to the said parties of the first part by deed bearing date 6th November 1839.

Details:

Lester B. Crego appeared in Wyoming County, New York; Joseph Wells made his appearance in Chautauqua County, NY.

Rebecca (Bowers) Scott and Orlando Hastings., both of Livingston County, New York, were also involved in the dispute.

Lester Crego's name was on land sold to Thomas and Laura Richmond. [I'm a descendant of the Richmonds; not related to the other people mentioned]
