....Between Joseph B. Richardson and Janett Richardson his wife of Mount Morris in the County of Livingston and State of New York of the first part and John Backus of Livonia in the County and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that the parties of the first part in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars duly paid have sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that part or parcel of land situate in the...town of Livonia in the County and State aforesaid Known as being a part of Lot number Seventy and described as follows; Viz beginning at the south west corner of the piece of land first set to Diadama Richardson and now owned by Warren Wheeler, thence south two chains fifty nine and an half links to a stake and stones, thence east eighty rods to a stake and stones, thence north two chains fifty nine and an half links to a stake and stones thence west and parallel with the aforesaid south line eighty rods to the place of beginning containing five acres and thirty rods--with the appurtenances and all the estate title and interest therein of the parties of the first part and the said Joseph B. Richardson and Jenett Richardson his wife do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns they will forever warrant and defend against every person whomsoever ---In witness whereof the parties of the first part hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written...

On this first day of April A.D. 1839, Joseph B. Richardson and Jennett his wife came before me and severally acknowledged that they had executed the within conveyance and the said Jenett on a private examination apart from her husband acknowledged that she had executed the said conveyance freely and without compulsion of her husband, and I further certify that I know the persons who made the said acknowledgment to be the same individuals described in and who executed the said conveyance.
