Ethiopia And The Isles In Maryland

The Duff Green Papers (and related material) are part of the Southern History Collection at the Wilson Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  One of the items below specifically mentioned a re-survey of the "Ethiopia and the Isles" area of Allegany County, Maryland, an area mentioned in deeds transacted by Jim's relatives.

There is a second deed where Margaret Jones is the grantor and James Baird is the grantee in book 42 and page 497; part of the property description includes "Ethiopia and the Isles".

Note: This (Dye Cemetery #1) is from the family cemetery near Lonaconing,Maryland.(Dan's Mountain), Election District 10, situated on part of tract of land called "Ethiopia and the Isles". Currently private property, not accessible to the general public.
