Deputies in 1817 and A Deed (1819) In Gallatin County, Illinois

Gallatin Co., Illinois, Deeds - Book A, Page 58:

Mr. Micael Jones is duly authorized to colect (sic) all the fees due me for my services while I was Sheriff in Gallatin County, Illinois Territory and also to colect and receive a Claime granted me by the Court he is by these presents empowered to call my deputyes (sic) Marmaduke Davenport and John Craw and all and every act of his shall be valid and good in those caces (sic) as if I myself was present. Given under my hand and seal this 10th March 1817.
