Research of the Lapeer Co., MI, deed below focused on Dr. James Jerome and his family. A member of the illustrious JEROME family, he (Dr. James Jerome) was the son of Horace & Nancy (Reed) Jerome. He married 1st Lisette Atwater and 2nd Calista Allen, of Lapeer, on 4 April 1865.

Horace Jerome, Dr. James Jerome's father, married 2nd Elizabeth Hart. They were the parents of Michigan Governor David Jerome, Senator George Jerome, Edwin Jerome and Rep. Timothy Jerome.
