Cordelia Maria Goodale, daughter of Warner Wright Goodale & Elizabeth (White) Goodale was born 20 July 1856 in Lapeer Co., Michigan. Warner was the son of Isaac & Electa (Allen) Goodale. Isaac Goodale VI, b. 10 Oct 1780 at Northampton, Mass.; d. 23 Aug 1842 in Lapeer Co., MI (also lived in Tioga Co., NY). Isaac married Electa Allen, daughter of Elijah and Keziah (Wright) Allen in 1810. Elijah was the son of Joseph & Elizabeth (Parsons) Allen and a cousin of Ethan Allen of Revolutionary War fame.**
Charles Valentine, b. 1855, of Oxford (Oakland Co., MI?) married Cordelia Goodale 21 March 1877 in Mayfield Twp., Lapeer Co., MI.
A Cordelia Valentine was born 26 June 1899 to Charles M. & Cordelia Valentine of Mayfield Twp, Lapeer Co., MI. Did the mother Cordelia die 20 July 1899 as a result of childbirth?
Ashley Valentine was born to Charles & Cordelia on 4 Dec 1878 and died 7 Jan 1879 in Lapeer.
Clarissa Valentine was born to Charles & Cordelia on 23 Aug 1880.

The widower, Charles M. Valentine (b. 1855) son of Orson & Clarissa (Applegate) Valentine, married Mercy J. Darby McDowell (b. 1861 in Canada and 1st married to Wm McDowell in 1880) on 1 Aug 1900 in Lapeer Co., Michigan. William McDowell, born in Michigan and the son of James, d. 24 Feb 1896.
