While researching for a blog about Little Turtle, this map of the Miami Indians' land in 1795 surfaced. I wondered where our recently purchased RV lot (August 2009), which is within spitting distance of the St. Joseph River, would be found on the 1795 map.
The modern map (below) shows that Homer, Michigan (Point "A," the nearest city to the RV park), is within a degree or so of being directly north of the Indiana/Ohio border. I would affix that point just east of the "R" for the St. Joseph River on the Miami Indian territory map. [I saved the image above as a jpg and can't find the original source - duh]
