Wharton Green - A Confederate Connection To Abraham Lincoln and Bexar Co., TX

While researching Wharton J. Green (a Confederate officer who married Mrs. Adeline Davis, the widow of the administrator of Abraham Lincoln's estate*) for this blog, it came to my attention that Mr. Green had business in Bexar Co., Texas [San Antonio]. From previous research, I knew that Bexar [pronounced Bear] County, Texas, has its deeds online. Below is the index entry for what was found for Wharton J. Green:
Bexar Co., TX
GTE Doc. #. Filed Date Book Type Book
Page Instrument Type Opposite Name Lot Block NCB County Block Subdivision
GREEN WHARTON J GTR 9/12/1867 DEED RECORDS U2-259 POA C R JOHN AND CO
*Lincoln died without a will. Supreme Court Justice David Davis, who took no money for his work, handled his estate. Judge Davis did his work well, raising the value of Lincoln’s estate from $83,343.70 to $110,974.62 in two years before it was divided equally between Mary, Robert and Tad. [Source here]
