This Indenture made the eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, between Washington E. Richardson and Hariet his wife of the town of Mount Morris county of Livingston and State of New York, of the first part and John Backus of the town of Livonia County of Livingston and State aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted bargained sold remised ....the said party of the second part....all that certain tract or parcel of land lying in Livonia aforesaid on lot number seventy (70) beginning at the south west corner of the piece of land first set to Lydia Richardson at a stake and stones thence south two chains and ninety nine and an half links to a stake and stones thence east twenty chains to a stake and stones thence north eighty links to a stake and stones thence west along the south line of the wood lot set to Philena Backus to the southwest corner thereof to a stake and stones thence north to the south line of the first mentioned piece thence west to the place of beginning containing five acres and thirty rods together will all and singular the hereditaments......set their witness where of the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

State of New York
Livingston County  On the eleventh day of February 1834 before me John C. Coe, a commissioner of deeds came Washington E. Richardson and Harriet his wife to me known as the persons described in and who executed the above deed, and acknowledged that they executed the same, for the uses and purposes therein specified and the said Hariet on an examination apart from her said husband saith that she executed the above without any fear of her said husband and voluntarily.  John C.
