The Patterson Grantors In Genesee Co., Michigan

Why were John C. Cameron and Arabella Paine both Grantees on the same deed? After researching, I still don't know. Arabella was the daughter of Charles & Betsey Patterson; was Charles her brother and Fanny her sister-in-law? I found a John C. Cameron who married Florence Williams who lived in the area, but did not find a connection to Arabella. My interest was in the Cameron surname for my new blog "Cameron Collections." However I had better luck with the Pattersons and Paines.

Genesee Co., MI, Deeds

The Grantors:

I found Charles & Fanny Patterson in Clio, Vienna Twp., Genesee Co., MI, in 1870:
1870 MI Census
Patterson, Charles, 37, NY, miller (grist mill)
", Fannie, 42, b. MI
", Charles, 7, b. MI
", Isabell, 5, b. MI

Charles & Fanny Patterson apparently moved to Wisconsin:

Fanny PATTERSON Wife M W 51 MI Keep House O NY
Charles PATTERSON Son S W 17 MI School NY MI
Isabel PATTERSON Dau S W 15 MI School NY MI

It appears as though Fanny Patterson and her daughter, Isabelle Sweetzer, moved back to Michigan and were residing at Port Huron, St. Clair County, where a Fanny Patterson died 28 February 1908. Fanny was the daughter of Diodate & Charlotte Hubbard of Oakland County, Michigan. Fanny Hubbard married 1st Daniel Sprague in Oakland County on 15 Feb 1849; Daniel & Fanny Sprague were living next door to Diodate, Charlotte and William Hubbard in Royal Oak, Oakland Co., Mi, in the 1850 Census. In 1860 Daniel & Fanny Sprague (indexed as "Strange" on HeritageQuest) had 17 year old Diodate Courliss living with them. Daniel Sprague died 4 October 1861 in Oakland Co. Fanny Sprague married C. R. Patterson 30 Dec 1863 in Oakland County. By 1867, Fanny was living in Genesee County when she signed the deed.
